Sabrina Carpenter has scored six Grammy nominations for the 2026 ceremony.
The “Manchild” singer grabbed nominations in record of the year, song of the year, album of the year, best pop vocal album, best pop solo performance and best music video. The singer also earned six nominations at the 2025 ceremony.
The 26-year-old Grammy Award winner released her seventh album, Man’s Best Friend, earlier this year. The 12-track pop album is a natural follow-up to Carpenter’s equally steamy and at-sometimes-raunchy 2024 album, Short N’ Sweet, which earned the singer her first Grammy Award. The album topped Billboard’s 200 Albums Chart and was widely considered a Grammy contender heading into the nominations Friday.
“Manchild,” the album’s pre-release single, landed atop the Billboard Hot 100, earning the singer her second No. 1 hit. The song itself is an ear-worm as Carpenter sings about stupid, no good men, paired with Carpenter’s signature funny, cheeky lyrics like “why so sexy if so dumb.” Carpenter co-wrote the song with her Short N’ Sweet collaborators Amy Allen and Jack Antonoff, who both scored multiple nominations today.
At the 2025 Grammy Awards, Carpenter performed two of her biggest hits of 2024. The singer channeled old Hollywood for a jazzy version of “Espresso.” Carpenter then tore off her black sequined suit look to reveal a baby blue bejeweled bodysuit, picking up the pace on her hit song. The star later accessorized with a matching feathered robe for “Please Please Please” before diving back into a reprise of “Espresso.”
The pop singer’s profile exploded last summer following the release of her 2024 single “Espresso” off the album, Short N’ Sweet. The single and album earned Carpenter two Grammy Awards in February for best pop solo performance with “Espresso” and best pop vocal album. Despite not hitting No. 1, “Espresso” was a game changing song for Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter Talks Grammy Recognition: ‘I’ve Been True to Myself’
A decade into her music career, Sabrina Carpenter has seen a meteoric rise over the past year, culminating in her sixth album, Short n’ Sweet, her record-breaking success on the Billboard charts, and six Grammy nominations.
Speaking to PEOPLE, the 25-year-old reflected on her path, saying, “I’ve always been true to myself and believed in my work since I was young. I’ve realized that it’s always been about the small baby steps that you take over time to get you to this point.”
Carpenter’s career began with her Disney Channel days, but her evolution into a pop music powerhouse was firmly established in 2024 with the release of Short n’ Sweet, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and became her first chart-topping album.
The record, driven by infectious hits like “Espresso,” “Please Please Please,” and “Taste,” not only dominated the charts but solidified Carpenter’s place in pop music history.
In 2024, Carpenter became the first solo artist since The Beatles to place two simultaneous Top 3 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, with “Please Please Please” peaking at No. 1 and “Espresso” at No. 3.
She also made history as the first woman to have three songs simultaneously in the Hot 100 Top 10 for five consecutive weeks, surpassing Cardi B’s previous record. “Taste,” another standout single, debuted at No. 2, giving her an unprecedented streak of hits that propelled her into a new level of superstardom.
The success of Short n’ Sweet wasn’t just limited to the U.S. Both “Espresso” and “Please Please Please” topped the Billboard Global 200 chart, showcasing Carpenter’s global appeal. Reflecting on her whirlwind year, she told PEOPLE, “I don’t think I have fully reflected yet, as I’m also trying to be present in the moment. But I’m just happy to see my songs connect with so many people from all walks of life. That’s why I love to write songs.”
Following the release of Short n’ Sweet, Carpenter embarked on her first arena tour, which included unique fan experiences like T-Mobile’s “Sweet Spot” pop-ups. “These collaborations have felt super authentic to this album and tour and fan-friendly, which I’m grateful for,” she said. Carpenter praised her fans’ creativity during the tour, from their outfits to the hilarious signs they brought to shows. “Connecting with my fans each night has been the most memorable part,” she added.
The tour, which ran from September through November 2024, saw Carpenter performing to sold-out arenas across North America. She’s set to continue her global trek with a European leg starting in March, saying, “I can’t wait to see all of my fans in Europe. There are a couple of cities I haven’t been to in a really long time, so I’m excited to see which crowd is the loudest.”
Carpenter’s Best New Artist nod at the 2025 Grammys might seem unusual for someone with six albums and a decade-long career, but for the artist, it’s simply the recognition of a long-held dream.
“It’s such an honor,” she said, noting that being nominated had been a goal of hers since childhood. She is also up for major categories like Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Pop Solo Performance.
Sabrina Carpenter Calls Herself ‘Best Old Artist’ After Earning Six Grammy Noms: ‘I Don’t Know How That’s Possible’
Sabrina Carpenter celebrated her six Grammy nominations from a tour bus earlier this morning and shared video clips of the moment.
“Us on the tour bus this morning, take a shot every time we scream like fr headphone warning,” Carpenter captioned the videos on Instagram. She continued writing, “This is the first year I’ve watched the live stream where i heard my name! I’d be lying if i said i hadn’t dreamt about this day my whole life so i am filled with gratitude — Thank you @recordingacademy.”
In the VHS-style videos, Carpenter celebrates her nominations for best new artist, album of the year and best pop solo performance category, noting that she’s in the same category as Beyoncé — “Beyoncé and Sabrina Carpenter?!” She jokingly calls herself “best old artist” since she’s already released six albums since launching her music career as a teen. “I don’t know how that’s possible,” she says with a smile.
Carpenter received nominations for all four of the main categories — best new artist, album, record and song of the year — across genres. If Carpenter were to win all four, she’d be the first to do so since Billie Eilish in 2020.
Outside of the big four, Carpenter is also recognized in the pop categories for best pop solo performance for her piping hot single, “Espresso,” while its parent LP, “Short n’ Sweet,” is also up for best pop vocal album. She’s also the only artist nominated this year in both the record of the year and song of the year categories who received nominations for different songs — “Espresso” and “Please Please Please,” which also made Carpenter the first solo artist and second act overall to place two initial top-three hits with no other billed artists in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously.
Following Beyoncé’s leading 11 nods, it’s Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone and Charli XCX who have a four-way tie for the second-largest number of nominations this year, with seven noms each. Close behind with six nominations apiece are Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan and Carpenter.Carpenter’s collaborators also received nominations for “Short n’ Sweet” as best engineered album (non classical), and best remixed recording of “Espresso” by Mark Ronson and FNZ.
